Filing a claim step by step
In a case of theft or vandalism, make no mistake, your safety comes first. Leave your home if you feel you may be in danger. Go to a friend's or neighbour's house, or head to a public place. Once you're safe, then follow these steps:

Call the police
Call 911 for immediate help and assistance. You’ll need the police report to process your insurance claim.

Call us so we can take your statement and open a file
Once things are in hand, call us at 1 855 747-7711, day or night. We’ll walk you through the next steps.
Good to know! Make sure you have the insurance policy number when you call us. You can find this number on your contract, and you can find your contract online in the Client Centre.

Damage appraisal and claim assessment
A claims adjuster will then review your claim. If work needs to be done to repair your home, we will recommend a reliable contractor.
You can give us a list of your stolen or damaged property by filling out a damage statement online in the Client Centre.

Your settlement in clear terms
Based on your coverage, we determine the exact amount of your settlement. Your claims adjuster will explain the settlement details and the applicable deductible.

Time for repairs
Once the amounts covered are clearly established, you can proceed with the repair or replacement of your damaged or stolen property.

We keep you posted so you know what’s going on every step of the way.
