Carl Gauthier began his career at the Bank of Canada in 1987. He has held various positions as an economist and tax specialist, including at the Ministère du Revenu in 1992, followed by the Ministère des Finances in 1994.
Mr. Gauthier was later appointed Assistant Deputy Minister of Economic and Fiscal Policy and Head of Crown Corporations. His has held several executive positions, including vice-président aux finances et à l’administration at the Commission des normes, de l'équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail (CNESST). In 2018, he was appointed president and CEO of the Agence du Revenu du Québec. He also been a member of the Board of Directors of La Capitale Civil Service Mutual since 2016.
Carl Gauthier obtained a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in taxation from the Université de Sherbrooke.
