Sylvain Paré
Director
Mr. Paré is a Chartered Professional Accountant. He holds a Master of Science Degree and a Bachelor of Business Administration from HEC Montréal, both with a major in finance.
With a career spanning over 30 years in the finance industry, Mr. Paré has made significant contributions. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President of Finance at the Fonds de solidarité FTQ, where he worked from January 2015 until his retirement in March 2023. During his tenure, he was responsible for the Fonds’ financial management and played a key role in its strategic decision-making as a member of the Executive Committee. He also served as Head of Risk Management. From 2006 to 2014, Mr. Paré was Vice President of Management and Financial Strategy of the Fonds. Prior to that, Mr. Paré had a distinguished career at Mouvement Desjardins, Québecor Média and the Royal Bank of Canada.
A strong advocate for social causes, Mr. Paré has been actively involved in various community initiatives. Since January 2024, he has been serving as a member of the Board of Directors and Chair of the Audit Committee for the Réseau des femmes d’affaires du Québec.
Mr. Paré was previously on the Board of Directors of SSQ Financial Group from December 2011 to July 2020, when SSQ Insurance and La Capitale joined forces to form Beneva. He then continued to serve as a member of Beneva’s Board of Directors. He has served on several Board committees and is currently a member of Beneva's Risk, Ethics and IT Management Committee.
